North Branch Vineyards

North Branch Vineyards is a small winery and vineyard located in Montpelier VT that was named the “Best Vermont Grown/Produced Wine” at last year’s Eastern States Wine Competition. Owners John and Kate McCann cultivate 3200 grape vines including 7 varieties on their 13.7 acre farm. In 2023, two natural disasters hit their Middlesex vineyard and they lost 80% of their vines to the May freeze and the remaining 20% to the excessive rains in July and August. A VFF Emergency Loan helped the McCanns ramp up production this season and mitigate against further crop loss
